Charges Filed in Winter Murder
Shawnee County District Attorney Robert Hecht files charges in the murder of the 15 year-old girl whose body was found last December burned from the waist down.

Shawnee Co. District Attorney Robert Hecht announced Thursday charges against Christopher Dwayne Hall, 24, for the murder of Nacole Winter.

Eight months ago the 15 year-old's body was found near Lake Shawnee. She was last seen on her way to school at the Hope Street Academy on November 30th of last year.


Her body was found two weeks later, reportedly badly burned from the waist down.

Police had been working the case for the last eight months, identifying and interviewing scores of witnesses.

Hecht said that he announced charges of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Indecent Liberty with a Child, and Criminal Desecration of a Bodyhave been filed against Hall, who is currently incarcerated in Missouri.

The District Atttorney also said that Hall will face one count of Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Aggravated Battery with Intentional great Bodily Harm for an offense that occurred later in December 2006.

Hecht said that it could take about sixty days to exradite Hall.

Wow it happend at hope street well im suprised somethign like that hasnt happend over at capital city becuase thats where i go to school

I wish that Nacole and I would of talked more before she left. There is so many un-said things to her, she didnt deserve this but I Thank GOD that Justice is taking action, now. But nothing will bring her back, at least now there can be some kind of peace with this. I miss her.

We should put him through the same thing she went through. Nobody deserves to be raped, beaten and burned. Especaily her. Love you forever Nacole.
