GLEN ELDER, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 93 year-old Beloit woman was killed in an early afternoon wreck west of Glenn Elder on Friday, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP). Lola Hillman died at Salina Memorial Hospital less than an hour after the crash.
Reports indicate she was heading west on U.S. 24 when her 2002 GMC pickup crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a trailer being towed by John Horky, 47, of Kensington. Hillman's truck bounced back into westbound lanes, while Horky pulled over in his 2006 GMC pickup. His trailer broke off and ended up stopping on the shoulder.
Horky wasn't hurt in the wreck.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
