9 Year-Old Ducks Man Luring Him To Car | KU Police Search For Suspect

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- The University of Kansas Public Safety Office is searching for a man who reportedly tried to lure a 9 year-old boy into his car Monday afternoon.

They said the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of 19th and Anna Drive, according to police. They are describing it as an aggravated indecent solicitation of a child.

The suspect was described as a black man with braided hair and a short to medium-size beard. He was driving a large, brown car.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 785-864-8888 or the KU Public Safety Office at 785-864-5900.

The KU Public Safety Office also added these tips to help keep you or a loved one safe in similar situations:

  • Make sure your children know not to go with strangers.
  • If possible always walk with others.
  • Be aware of people around you and report any unusual people or activities to the KU Public Safety Office or your local police.
