Topeka (WIBW) - Coloring outside the lines has earned one woman recognition from the American Business Women's Association.

Martha Bartlett Piland received the ABWA's 2010 Woman of Distinction Award during a luncheon Tuesday.

This isn't the first award for Piland and her MB Piland Fat Free Advertising. In 2005, she was named Kansas Woman-Owned Professional Business of the Year by the Kansas Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, she won the Greater Topeka Chamber's Bmall Business of the Year.

Piland says she always has a mind on giving back. She says when you give, you gain back multiple times over.

The presentation came during ABWA's 28th annual scholarship luncheon. Each year, the group chooses a woman in whose honor to hold the luncheon as a fundraiser to award scholarships in that person's name to women attending Washburn University.

Piland says the scholarship aspect is what made the award so meaningful. She says those who chose to attend will be making a difference in women's lives for years to come.
