TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)_ The Topeka Roadrunners are joining the city's campaign to bring Google's proposed Fiber Experiment to northeast Kansas.
Team officials were joined by representatives from ThinkBigTopeka on Friday as the announced they will temporarily rename themselves the "Google" Roadrunners.
The NAHL team will also host Think Big Topeka night on March 25. The night is designed to cap the six week long effort to bring the Google Fiber Experiment to Topeka.
Google says it plans to "build and test ultra high-speed broadband in a small number of locations across the United States." The company says its Fiber Experiment will deliver intenet speeds 100x faster than what's availible to most Americans.
