Finalists Chosen for "Poetry Out Loud"
The list is out this week of five outstanding high school poetry students who will read at the annual event March 12th.

TOPEKA -- The Kansas Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, in cooperation with the Kansas Association of Teachers of English, present the annual Kansas "Poetry Out Loud" State Competition. The event is scheduled for 7:00 Friday night, March 12th at the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka at 515 SE Monroe Street.
Finalists for the competition are:
* Taylor Coney, senior at Smoky Valley High School
* Ashlinn Danford, junior at Hays High School
* Markayla McCarter, senior at Parsons High School
* Casha Mills, sophomore at Shawnee Mission North High School
* Stephanie Willis, senior at Wichita Heights High School
