It's been more than seven months since 15-year-old Nacole Winter's body was found near Lake Shawnee.
13's Brian Quick spoke with Nacole's mother Vickie Winter earlier today.
She asked not to speak on camera, but did tell me her daughter's murder is still an extremely painful subject.
She also reiterated that....to her knowledge..... no one has ever been arrested in the murder.
Topeka Police say, they haven't let up on search for Nacole's killer.
"We never let go of a case, we're going to keep working it as long as we have some place to go in the investigation," said Major John Sidwell of the Topeka Police Department.
Topeka Police say the Nacole Winter investigation has not become a cold case homicide...they're working hard to put together this puzzle.
"It takes a lot of time to work through all of that...as well as developing leads, chasing those and trying to piece everything together," Sidwell said.
Winter was last seen going to school at Hope Street academy November 30th, 2006.
She was found two weeks later -- and sources tell 13 News she was burned from the waist down.
Nacole's mother is counting on someone out there who has a lead that could lead to an arrest in the case.
She urges anyone with information to come forward.
