Topeka's Community's Action, Inc. will again be providing free school supplies for eligible children in Shawnee and Wabaunsee counties. The organization will accept applications at its Swygert Center, 621 Swygert St. between 9 a.m. and noon as well as 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
It will hand out the backpacks filled with grade-appropriate material materials at the Community Action's 2007 Back-To-School Fair on August 11th between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The fair is a free event that provides fun and informative activities to get families ready for the upcoming school year.
Eligibility is based on household income relative to family-size (see chart below). Community Action requires proof of income and the social security cards of all family members from all applicants.
