Topeka Rev. Heading To Haiti

Disaster in Haiti
By  |

Topeka, KAN. (WIBW)--Haiti is still facing a gruesome recovery task, in the aftermath of a 7.0 earthquake. One Topeka pastor is leading a group to the island he's visited so many times before, but no visit is more important than this one.

Rev. Max Manning, of Topeka’s Global Mission Inc., finished up last minute shopping for the trip set for Wednesday.

"I have a great love for the Haitian people, they're like family,” said Manning.

A love that's taken Manning on hundreds of missionary trips in the span of nearly a half century, to the most impoverished country in the western hemisphere.

His team of four is ready to provide help on Haiti’s streets where many are living due to the country's crumbling infrastructure.

Watch the video for reaction from a woman living in Haiti. She describes the harsh scenes on Haiti’s streets.
