The battle against cancer also took to the skies today...it was the first annual Topeka Flights for Cancer.
Five dollars was all it took for people to hop in a teathered hot air balloon and enjoy the views.
Also - the Great Plains Balloon Club donated a full balloon flight for raffle. To get in organizers asked for a 10 dollar donation.
All the money raised goes to cancer research through the Lance Armstrong foundation and the american cancer society.
The group raised more than $800.00 in just a few hours for Cancer research.

13 had m on for an interview last Monday at 4:00 pm for an interview. There are already plans in the works for this event to be held next year. I already have started palnning it and should have a date set up within the next few months with the balloon club. I hope by getting it scheduled early, we can draw even more people. We averaged almost two people per minute for the tethers, so we may need to try to get more balloons for next year too.
