Jackson County, Kan. (WIBW)_ A man is recovering after he was found on a 20-foot creek bank after authorities say he jumped from a vehicle.
Jackson County authorities say it happened around 3 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Authorities received a report of a man jumping from a car on U.S. 75. The area was searched, but the man was lost, due to drifting snow. About 20 minutes later, authorities received a report that a man didn't know where he was at. It turns out, it was the same man, who reported he jumped from his vehicle, Stanley Rakausky Jr.
The Hoyt Fire Department and Mayetta Fire Department responded to the area and found the man after a 30-minute search.
The man was found in a creek, submerged in water after falling through the ice. He was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. There is no word on his condition.
