Weather To Blame For Accident In Northwest Kansas
Winter weather in the northwest part of the state Tuesday evening is to blame for an accident on I-70 that involved three vehicles and sent three people to the hospital.

COLBY, Kansas (WIBW) - Three families travelling through Kansas from out of state, collided when the weather turned bad Tuesday evening.
The Kansas Highway Patrol crash log reports the accident happened at 9:40 P.M. on I-70, about one mile east of Colby, Kansas.
The highway patrol report indicates that a 2005 Dodge Pickup from Texas was westbound on I-70 when the driver lost control due to the weather. The pickup crossed a median into eastbound traffic, hitting the right front side of a 2008 Ford SUV, then colliding head on with a 2003 Hyundai SUV.
In the Dodge pickup were Alan Covell, 34; Cathleen Covell, 28; Brandon Corvell, 4; and Cynthia Cahalan, 5. Alan and Cathleen were taken to Citizens Medical Center with possible injuries. Neither child was injured.
In the 2008 Ford SUV were Gabriel Buonfiglio, 27, and Kaitlin Buonfiglio, 21, both of Connecticut. Neither of them reported injuries.
And in the 2003 Hyundai SUV, Alison Pierucci, 21, of Denver, Colorado, was taken to Citizens Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
