Lane's BBQ Serves Final Meal

Topeka (WIBW) - A long-time Topeka family business is no more.
The message on the answering machine at Lane's Barbeque says they're no longer in business.
Owner Harold Lane says the restaurant at 13th and S. Kansas Ave. downtown served its last meal Friday night.
Lane's started as a grocery store in 1934. Lane took over the family business in 1992.
Lane told 13 News that he and his wife decided it's time for a change. Lane, who is also a state legislature, says it has always been difficult to juggle his duties at the restaurant and the Statehouse, and this will allow him to focus on his legislative duties.
