The lawyer for the man accused of kidnapping and killing Johnson County teenager Kelsey Smith has made a routine request for evidence in the case.
Paul Cramm is the attorney for 26-year-old Edwin Hall, who's charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in Smith's death.
She was abducted from a Target store parking lot last Saturday.
Her body was found Wednesday.
Cramm filed his request for discovery in Johnson County court yesterday.
He asks for access to all evidence and witnesses that prosecutors have acquired so far.
According to court records obtained by The Associated Press yesterday, Hall pleaded no contest in May 1996 to threatening his
adoptive sister at knifepoint.
Hall was then placed in state custody and spent three years in four facilities.
That was from 1996 to 1999.
