The goal of having someone to oversee helping area flood victims for the long haul is a step closer to reality. A group of organizations that have resources to assist flood victims met today to talk about setting up a committee. Members from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Shawnee County Emergency Management are among those involved.
When formed, the recovery committee in Shawnee county will determine the unmet needs of victims and find ways to meet those needs.
