Christmas Tradition Sparks Controversy
Every year, Mike Babcock proudly turns his home into a Christmas wonderland, drawing large groups of people to see his home. So many come that police turn the road in front of his home into a one way street a ban parking along it for a month.

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. (WIBW)_ A holiday tradition for more than forty years in Prairie Village is coming under fire by neighbors.

Every year, Mike Babcock proudly turns his home into a Christmas wonderland, drawing large groups of people to see his home. So many come that police turn the road in front of his home into a one way street a ban parking along it for a month.

Neighbors say they miss not being able to host Christmas parties because of the lack of parking and an insurance battle sparked last year when a piece of the display blew onto a neighbors property and hit two cars.

Christmas is under attack and has been for a few years now, everything from the anti-Christmas anti-American store Target(a French owned company) to the ACLU and other groups filing suits against Christmas displays as well as filing suits against 40-50yr old war memorials honoring our soldiers. The groups claim "seperation of church and state" or that Christmas/Christian are offensive or intolerate of others and that others should not have to see the displays. People need to stand up for their rights and our traditions or they will be lost and/or taken away. Freedom was not given to us in our genes, not passed to us from one family member to another; freedom is something that each generation has to fight for or else freedom will be lost. The loudest voice history will record will not be those opposing freedoms but will be the voice that stayed silent defending freedom. Rather than talking or thinking about how wrong this is take action and do something about it! Stand up and defend it!

I have one by my house at Mur-Len and Indian Creek. While it is kind of hideous, they do it with the best of intentions. Leave them be. Let them celebrate as they wish.

Let the guy have his lights! Come on people, if it's that elaborate that hundreds of people come to look and it means that much to this guy, quit complaining! It's the holidays for goodness sakes.
