Topeka (WIBW) - Topeka City Manager Norton Bonaparte headed across the river to learn about the concerns of North Topekans.
His session at Bradley's Corner Cafe, 844 N. Kansas Ave., Tuesday morning was the second stop in his latest "Meet the Manager" series.
Bonaparte says he likes giving residents a chance to talk with him in a more casual setting. He says each series of meetings includes stops in different areas of the city: North, South, East and Central.
He says as much as each area of the city has unique concerns, they also express universal interests, such as clean neighborhoods and public safety.
Darrell Six, owner of Six Auto Sales, was among those stopping in to chat with Bonaparte on a snowy morning. He says North Topeka has many good things going in in terms of development, with Highway 24 expansion, North Kansas Avenue revitalization and the riverfront. He says he wants to be sure city leaders remember the people and businesses north of the river.
Bonaparte has two more sessions left in this series. His next is 8 to 9:30 am Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Chic-A-Dee Cafe, 3036 SE 6th. The series wraps up from 8 to 9:30 am Dec. 15 at PT's Coffe Company, 5660 SW 29th St.
