The Abortion Recovery Center at 2037 SW McAlister is a new resource in Topeka for people whose lives have been affected by abortion. Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline spoke at the opening ceremony today.

Kay Lyn Carlson is the director of the Abortion Recovery Center. Today she shared her testimony with supporters of the center. "It's an important resource because there are millions out there who have suffered the same way I have suffered from the detrimental effects of abortion, and we need this service to help with healing."

The ARC is a resource for women who are dealing with psychological, social or spiritual issues as a result of an abortion. Phill Kline said, "there's silent suffering right now, of those who are post-abortion and they need to learn the grace and forgiveness of God and of those in our community."

It's a place to share and a place to heal. Carlson said, "sometimes if you've had an abortion, the hardest person to forgive is yourself, and I've experienced that, and so many other people have as well. I just would like to say that you're not alone and that you really can learn to forgive yourself."

The center offers a safe, non-judgmental, confidential environment where women can participate in professional counseling, bible studies, support groups and more.

GOD BLESS AND GOD SPEED! I pray that your Good Works will inspire many other such centers across the Kingdom and through the healing you help bring about, be able to reach those threatened by the painful path of abortion murder to make Godly decisions for Life! The heavest is great and the laborers are few but God is the Commander in Chief on the battlefield, and one by one His Will will be done!

Kay Lyn Carlson is to be called "blessed". She has stood up and spoken out for the unborn and helped women to find "Hope and Healing", because of her broken heart. God uses women's past to bring Glory and honor to him and grace and forgiveness to them. Then we can have victory in Jesus. This is just the beginning of what our Lord will do for the Righteous who stand up and speak out

God through Christ has forgiven me. Like you I'm responable unlike you I'm the man. I was the influence that caused the death of my baby and I'm sure devastation for a young woman. I think about it every day. Abortion on demand has to stop. Kids committing these acts may also reflect, and may God help them without him the guilt is unbearble.

I am a native Kansan, had I known 30 years ago, the detremental effects of abortion, I would have never consented. The doctor, behind my back had spoken with my mom, and they had it planned before I even knew what I was agreeing to. There are millions of angry women like my mom that have continued this thing of abortion on and on, becausee they had babies like us they did not want. The real harm is being done by angry women .... not, by women aborting babies, Marie

Having been Director of a pregnancy test center, I feel this is the next move of God, including healing men. How do we do this in our area?

I too had an abortion that left me unable to have children. I suffered deep depression and tried to commit suicide. Through God's grace and mercy He forgave me and I forgave myself and have a beautiful adopted daughter. I just want to say if you are suffering there is hope. I applaud you Kay Lyn and may the Lord bless your ministry abundently. Love You!

I volunteer as a counselor at a Crisis Pregnancy Center. I wish I had a tape recorder to tape the heartbreaking statements girls who have experienced abortion share. Most say I would not do it again.

I thought I was the only person hurt by abortion. I felt so alone when I processed my abortion grief in 1996, over twenty years after my abortion at age 19. Your center will be an invaluable resource for women and men dealing with the emotional pain after abortion. Blessings as you bring healing to your community.

This is major breakthrough! When these clinics become widespread in our cities, then the pent-up tears of a nation will come gushing forth, men and women will have a place to grieve their loss, lies will be replaced with truth, and joy will come from the mourning! Rhonda Houston, TX

Wow, Every city needs this yesterday. There are so many women in every city hurting, alone, that need to see and feel the love and forgiveness of God and the community. I pray God's blessings on this center and that it will be duplicated across the nation. That women will be silent no more and recieve the healing and Truth they deserve.

So many feel threatened by us. We must be on the right path! People matter first-weird concept in today's world. I read recently "the best people to help others are not those who studied in a book. It is those who lived it. You will never be healed until you use your pain to heal someone else. It is important that you help others who are struggling with what you have survived."

Traumatic blood loss, emergency surgery, severe infections, emotional, psychological and physical scarring, high risk of later premature birth and associated medical problems such as cerebral palsy in infants, lengthy and severe depression and/or substance abuse in the mother. That's a lot to deal with - for free. Better pray God's in this.
