As of late this morning, a few tickets were still available for Friday's speech at the University of Kansas by former President Clinton. He'll give the first lecture in a new series honoring former Kansas Senator Bob Dole, the man he beat in the 1996 presidential election.
The Clinton speech was originally scheduled for the Lied Center, seating only about 1,900 people. The few tickets available to the public were quickly snapped up and eventually officials decided to move the event to Allen Fieldhouse.
Monday, 5,000 tickets made available to students, faculty, and staff were gone in little more than an hour. Distribution of the last 5,000 began at 9:00 this morning. Two hours later, the field house ticket office said it had only about 100 tickets left.
