Headed into the weekend after a work-week filled with flood clean-up some homeowners are frustrated, while others are just happy to be alive.

Removing water logged possessions and sorting through family mementos is taking a toll on survivors.

"I'm trying trying to hold on and it's hard real hard," said Marilyn Bean.

Others are dealing with the expenses that come with the clean up.

"Their charging us for spraying for mold, for power washing, the whole thing you know it's just like a hundred here two hundred there and after awhile it's just a lot," Juanita Baily, homeowner.

With expenses piling up many are grateful for those lending a free hand.

"The volunteers the ones that have come down have been fantastic so we certainly appreciate that," said Jim Bridges.

The city is doing free flood debris removal from the curbs but the Quail Creek Homeowners Association ordered dumpsters and is passing that cost along to the residents there.

An official for Shawnee County's Emergency Operations advices people to keep their receipts in case a federal grant is issued.
