(WIBW) A Texas man accused of abducting a Kansas teen was sentenced Wednesday in Brown County court.
21 year-old Roy Hernandez of Odessa, Texas pleaded no contest to contributing to a child's misconduct and driving with a suspended license. A sentence of 18 months in jail and $900 in fines for both counts was suspended, and Hernandez will instead serve probation.
Tara Simhiser went missing from her Marion County home on October 20th. An Amber Alert was issued on the 21st.
The pair was found in Hiawatha on the 22nd.
The Marion County Clerk of Court says that, as of Wednesday, no case has been filed against Hernandez in their county in the alleged abduction.
He is, however, wanted on a parole violation in Texas.
