Search Continues for Leonardville Stabbing Suspect

A small Kansas town remained on high alert Wednesday night while an attempted murder suspect remained at large.

Riley County Police say they are still looking for 38-year-old Seth Joyce. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police say Joyce was last seen Tuesday night in Leonardville. They say he broke into a home at 111 South Erpelding, where 27-year-old Tricia Heikes and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Bryce Williams were sleeping. Police say Joyce stabbed Williams several times before fleeing.

A friend of the victims, Shannon Graham, says Heikes and Joyce are going through a divorce. He says, while he didn't know Joyce well, he is surprised it was him who carried out the attack.

The Riley County School District canceled all afternoon activities and practices while police searched for Joyce. Joyce is described as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes, six-feet two-inches tall, 210 pounds with a three-inch scar on his left arm

He was last seen wearing camouflaged shorts, a black T-shirt with unknown white writing on it and hiking boots. While the weapon believed to be used in the crime was recovered, police say the suspect should still be considered potentially armed and dangerous.

Police say Joyce is wanted for attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated burglary and violation of a protection from abuse order. Anyone with information on his where-abouts should call Riley County Police at 785-537-2112 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
