A student could be taking a polygraph test in the near future about the Seneca School fire.
Chad Miller, the boy's father, says his 14-year-old eighth grade son is innocent and is being harassed by investigators, but has reluctantly agreed to the test.
The father says the only evidence against his son is accusations of other students.
He says he will stand by his son.
We spoke with Karl McNorton with the fire marshall's office, he said they had no comment due to the nature of the investigation.
Investigators previously told us the cause of the fire was undetermined -- but they didn't believe it was intentionally set.

I thought that I saw Mr. Miller on the news not-so-reluctantly asking for the polygraph test. (I don't think that the kid should take it.) And, if it is just other students, there is no way he can be found guilty. It just seems to me that this guy is only after attention. And, as far as the fire being ruled undetermined, they could still be searching for a cause.

What proof do investigators have to support the allegations against this 14 year old boy? If the fire was already ruled undetermined, how can they go back almost a month and half later and declare it to be arson? What has authorities believing this was intentionally set, if they keep telling people that it is undetermined? If they couldn't have found the cause because the fire had destroyed so much for them to declare it "undetermined" how are they going to prove arson? Where are the finger prints, and all the evidence proving that this was intentionally set and by this one particular child? I seriously believe this child is innocent and is just being harassed by higher income students who need to pinpoint blame on someone. I feel he is innocent until proven guilty since there is no hard evidence leading upto these accusations, and since the fire destroyed so much for investigators to determine the actual cause.

I hope Mr. Miller doesn't allow his son to be polygraphed. As it is nothing more than an interrogation tool, without the benefit of a lawyer. Polygraphs are an extremely unreliable pseudo-science made to work on the naive and ill prepared. I would highly suggest that they visit www.antipolygraph.org and really learn the con game that is the polygraph. The polygraph is voluntary and you can not be forced to take one. Which I highly suggest that you consider and use your right to not take one.
