Topeka (WIBW) - The building that housed Topeka's former Payless Distribution Center has a new owner.
At its meeting Thursday, the Joint Economic Development Organization announced the building on Highway 24 was sold to PTMW. PTMW is a metal fabrication and assembly company.
JEDO says the company plans to double its size in the next few months and will be adding about 140 new jobs.
Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce President Doug Kinsinger says it's a sign that in a tough economy Topeka is doing pretty well.
Also Thursday, JEDO approved an incentive for a small technology company that would possibly create another 28 jobs.
