LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Lawrence police say University of Kansas football coach Mark Mangino's personal checks were stolen from his family's car March 30th and used.

Mangino's wife Mary told police Friday that someone had forged three checks of about $34 each on March 31st and April 1st at two Dillons stores in Lawrence.

Police said 33-year-old Tyrone Alexander and 55-year-old Gary Smart were arrested in several burglaries, one of them on a vehicle that belonged to the Mangino family. The Manginos discovered later the checks had been used.

The suspects' cases are pending in Douglas County District Court.
