Area School Administrators Meet to Bring"Positive Action" Into Their Schools and Students
Area school administrators met to share ideas and learn how to incorporate "Positive Action" into their schools Monday.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Area school administrators met to share ideas and learn how to incorporate "Positive Action" into their schools Monday.
The workshop was held at the Shawnee County Detention Center.
Administrators and school counselors from kindergarten through high schools, discussed problems affecting their students, and the obstacles, barriers and success they've had in fixing them.
Dr. Carol Allred, a former high school English and Psychology teacher, is the developer and president of the "Positive Action" system.
She talked with the administrators about building self-esteem and life-skills with their students to cut down on problems like alcohol and drug use by students. Along with other behavioral probelms in their schools.
Monday's event was apart of Topeka's Safe Streets Coalition's efforts to curtail adolescent and teen alcohol use.
Shawnee Heights, Seaman, USD 501, Silver Lake and Rossville administrators were all present at Monday's workshop.
