Topeka (WIBW) - Here's an alert - don't trust text messages from your bank.

A 13 News viewer says she got a text message saying, "This is an automated message from Kaw Valley State Bank. Your ATM card has been suspended. To reactivate, call urgent at 1-877-220-5087."

The woman says she is not a customer of the bank and called to report the scam.

Kaw Valley Bank CEO Glenn Swogger says "no bank will ever text you about your confidential information.”

Swogger says the text message scam has been going around Topeka for several months, with various banks.
