MULBERRY, Kansas - On October 29, 2009, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force (SEKDETF) served a search warrant upon the residence of 111 East Jackson in rural Mulberry, Kansas. The search warrant was related to the Manufacture of Methamphetamine.
KBI authorities said while securing the property, an agent was attacked by a vicious dog on the property. The agent fired one shot, killing the dog.
They say another agent was injured when two agents fell through the rotted floor of the residence. The injured agent was taken to the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center (Pittsburg, Kansas) and treated for minor injuries.
None of the occupants of the residence were arrested at the time of the warrant service. Criminal charges are pending and the case is still under investigation, according to authorities
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Crawford County Drug Task Force (CRDTF), and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation all participated in the investigation.

During site survey for the warrant, I would have looked for animals and listed them on the OP Plan. Have animal control handy and capture same during warrant, rather than shoot them.

you know what makes me mad why is it that the "vicious" dog is nt named by the breed like pitbull owner said thats the first thing they would have said if it was a pit make the pits look bad once again but god forbid they make a lab look bad or a boarder collie look bad. We have cops that ask us about our pits all the time and all ours want to do is play and give kisses weve even our local bars want them there all the time im pretty sure that if pits were as bad as ppl wana say they are then why do so many more love them

VICIOUS DOG? I TAKE IT THIS DOG ISNT A PITTBULL? BECAUSE BELEIVE YOU ME.. WE WOULD OF HEARD THAT FIRST AS THE HEADLINE.. BREAKING NEWS. SO BECAUSE ITS NOT A PITT, THIS IS WHAT THEY DO.. THEY DONT DESCRIBE THE TYPE OF DOG IT IS.. IM JUST GLAD THAT TODAY IS NOT PITTBULL BASHING DAY.. HEY LOOK, TO KEEP IT 100. ANY AND EVERYDOG CAN ATTACK OR BE INTIMIDATED, IF THE DOG IS APPROACHED BY STRANGERS IN ITS SPACE.. ANY DOG CAN BE TERRITORIAL.. THAT DOG THAT ATTACKED, WAS DOING ITS JOB. IM NOT SAYING HIS JOB WAS TO PROTECT THE METH OR THE OWNERS WHO WAS MAKING THE METH.. IT JUST WAS PROTECTING THE PREMISIS. I CANT WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT TYPE OF DOG THIS WAS...I WILL HOWEVER AGREE THAT WHAT THE DRUG TASK FORCE DID WAS RIGHT, IF THEY FELT THAT THIER LIVES WERE AT STAKE. AND THE DOG WAS COMING TO ATTACK FULL MODE. I WOULD OF SHOT THE SOB ALSO...ITS ME OR THE DOG.. AND 9/10 ITS THE DOG THATS GOING DOWN. MY PITTBULL, IS VERY TERRITORIAL AND PROTECTIVE.. BUT LOVES ANY KID, AND WILL LISTEN.
