Authorities have filed charges in a Kansas City murder case that's nearly 24 years old.
Dorothy Fisher was strangled in her apartment in 1980 when she was 22. The Jackson County prosecutor's office now has charged Dawud Abdelmalik, 43, in her death.
Police identified Abdelmalik as a suspect after matching him to DNA found under Fisher's fingernails.
Sergeant John Jackson says a special investigative squad has been working the case for about two months.
