TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) - A benefit golf tournament is planned for 13 year old Jessica Seidel and her family to help them pay for medical bills and take some of the financial pressure off of Christmas.
Seidel has Hemphagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (a cancerous disease), Eosiniphilic Gastroenterities (a digestive disease that makes her unable to eat normal food), and is TPN dependent. She started chemotherapy for the HLH in November 2008 and received a bone marrow transplant in April 2009.
Jessica's younger brother, Jordan, was also diagnosed with Eosiniphilic Gastroenterities earlier this year and has been fighting the H1N1 flu virus.
The community has shown great support for the Seidel family. Continuing that tradition, a benefit four-man scramble is set up at Prairie View Country Club, 9840 SW 45th St., for Sunday, Nov. 1st. The entry fee is $30 per person. It includes green fees and a cart.
Registration on the day of the tournament starts at 11:00 a.m. Shotgun start is noon. There will be a meat dish provided for lunch. Participants are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to the party! There will be prizes and if the weather is uncooperative - no worries - there will be indoor activities.
Donations are appreciated (and welcome). To sign up your four-man team, call Prairie View at (785) 478-9733 or e-mail kim.swearingen@greatlifegolf.com.
