Topeka, Kan_ (WIBW) – The Kansas Neurological Institute may close, as state leaders decide what to do about the state’s budget crisis.
The Kansas Facilities Closure and Realignment Commission heard testimony from people who want to keep the facility open on Monday.
If the facility closes, about 40 of KNI’s more than 150 patients could be transported about two hours south to Parsons Hospital. The other families would have to decide what to do with their family members.
Family members of patients at KNI say if the facility closes, they don’t know what they'll would do.
