Topeka, KS – The state’s Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund could run out of money by the end of the year. If it would run out of money, the U.S. Treasury department would bail it out.
Jim Garner discussed this and other economy issues in Kansas at the Statehouse Friday. He held the annual State of Labor address, just before Labor Day.
Unemployment in Kansas is on the rise. It was 7.7 percent in July. That is up from 7 percent in June.
