It all happened about a month ago, when the Mitchell family had a no vote sign in their yard on a school bond issue.

One night many of those signs were destroyed, including the Mitchell's but something else was also taken from them that night, a 10-month-old puppy.

Russell Mitchell, the owner of the dog said, "It really hurt me to know the kids, you can't explain to them why someone done this and to have to sit there and see them cry over the deal, it really hurts, the dog didn't hurt nobody."

PETA is offering a one-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Osage County Sheriff's at
785-828-3121 or contact PETA at 757-622-PETA.
