Kansas Republicans are praising President Bush's budget plan for holding down taxes, but Democrats warn that planned cuts to Medicare will mean higher premiums for many.

Republican Senator Pat Roberts credits Bush's tax-relief measures for helping the economy.

Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Boyda says the budget cuts desperately needed funds from Medicare and Medicaid.

Republican Jerry Moran opposes Bush's plan to cut $193 million dollars from health professional training programs that keep small hospitals open.

Republican Congressman Todd Tiahrt says the budget keeps the economy strong with low taxes, keeps spending under control and protects national security.

Democratic Congressman Dennis Moore says it doesn't address the priorities of the American people.
