Kansas Seeks Members for New Emergency Response Teams
State is forming Individual Management Teams to assist in emergency situations like severe winter storms, tornadoes, and floods.

In an effort to provide better assistance during state emergencies, the Kansas Division of Emergency Management seeking qualified people to join new Individual Management Teams (IMT).
These IMTs would assist local governments overwhelmed by an emergency or natural disaster, providing a resource of personnel for all hazardous, situations.
When called upon, the teams will be self-sustaining, requiring no resources from the local government and only limited resources from the state for the first 72 hours after being activated.
Each team will contain approximately 20 members with a variety of skills necessary for responding. One team will be assigned to six of the seven Homeland Security regions in Kansas.
Prospective IMT members are expected to make a minimum of a two year commitment, after the initial training period.
Those who are interested in serving on one of the six teams can review the qualifications and apply at www.ksready.gov by Feb. 28, 2007
