JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A Junction City man has been arrested in the stabbing death of his 28-year-old estranged wife.
Rachelle Peterson was found dead Sunday morning when police went to her home after receiving a complaint about a domestic disturbance.
Cedric Peterson, also of Junction City, was arrested a short time later. He made his first appearance in court Monday, with bond set at $250,000. A public defender was appointed for him and a tentative preliminary hearing was set for January 16th.
Geary County District Attorney Steve Opat said he planned to file charges of aggravated burglary and first-degree or felony murder against Peterson.
Opat said Rachelle Peterson had recently moved into the apartment and the couple was estranged.
