Gas Stove Accident Burns Two People
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office says a man and woman were trying to light a gas stove when it exploded at a house in Willard Friday.

Willard (WIBW) - An accident with a gas stove sent a man and woman to the hospital with burns. It happened just after 11:30 am Friday at 205 W. Railroad St. in the town of Willard.

The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office says the couple was trying to light a gas stove when it exploded. Authorities at the scene say they both suffered first and second degree burns to their necks, legs, hands and arms.

Several children were outside the home at the time it happened. They were unhurt.

The home suffered minor smoke damage.

That is awful, I hope they will be ok. Those gas stoves are very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. I am glad at least the children were outside.
