HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) _ A former Hutchinson High School basketball coach and teacher has been sentenced to one year of community corrections for having sex with a 16-year-old female student.

Thirty-five-year-old Bradly S. Specht was sentenced Monday in Reno County District Court. He was found guilty in May of one count of unlawful sexual relations.

Specht had faced a possible six-month jail term but was sentenced to community corrections, an intense form of probation, as part of a plea agreement.

Specht, who was a physical education teacher at Hutchinson High School, was also ordered to register as a felony offender for the next
10 years.
