WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Don Hancock and his wife Fredericka were in such desperate need of money a few years ago that they sold their wedding rings.
But the homeless couple were unexpectedly given new rings during an impromptu ceremony yesterday afternoon.
The Hancocks were among about 40 homeless who received gifts donated by employees of Credit Union of America in Wichita.
Pastor Don Caitlin of Messiah's Branch church, which hosted the event, says the gift giving has been going on for about five years. All the presents came from Credit Union of America.
After they were given out, Caitlin surprised the Hancocks by giving them new wedding rings. Don says the generosity is especially touching because his wife has terminal cancer.
