Quake Reported Off Western Mexico
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Friday morning in the Gulf of California, off the western coast of Mexico, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Friday morning in the Gulf of California, off the western coast of Mexico, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake's epicenter was near the southern tip of Baja California, about 42 miles (68 kilometers) southwest of the city of Ahome in Sinaloa state and about 661 miles (1,064 kilometers) southeast of Tijuana. Tijuana is across the border from San Diego, California.
The temblor occurred at 5 a.m. local time (7 a.m. ET).
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
