The celebration at Lake Shawnee provided something for everyone, crafts, a car show, a concert and much more.

A new event was featured at this year's Spirit of Kansas celebration, a car show featuring more than 100 vehicles.

On the south side of the lake, golfers hit the links for an all day scramble golf tournament.

The festivities wrapped up around 10:30 last night with the fireworks show.

yeahhhh...they were lower than usual....strange....I dont mind the city spending money on fireworks...we are CELEBRATING out countries bday for heaven sake....the country I and many other have fought for and am proud of it!! Amy must not be a patriotic AMERICAN!!!

Dissapointed that the fireworks seemed to be lower in the sky. Tin Man Cirle was not the optimum view as in the past. We were unable to see anything except the very high fireworks. It would have been a better show if they would have staged it from a higher point around the lake.
