A young child suffered burns in an accident at Lake Perry Friday.
Shawnee County dispatchers tell us they got a call at 5:30 p.m. from a person taking the child from the lake to the hospital by private vehicle.
They sent an ambulance out to meet them on K-4 at the Highway 24 interchange.
CJ Online reports the child apparently fell into a barbecue smoker and was burned on the arms and stomach.

People now a days don't keep an eye on their kids and then wonder why their kids get hurt. Kids getting run over, walking the streets, getting burned, drowning. What ever happened to keeping your eyes on your child? If you cant keep an eye on your kids and raise them and protect them then DONT HAVE THEM
