Wamego (WIBW) - The City of Wamego has a proud display of its patriotism to celebrate Independence Day.
It's all thanks to a teenager who stumbled onto a great idea for her Girl Scout project.
Laurina Hannan noticed at her brother's baseball game that Wamego's baseball complex didn't have an American flag on display.
She raised money for a flag pole for her Girl Scout Gold Award, the Girl Scout's highest honor.
The flag pole was dedicated Friday, and the colors were raised as part of the ceremony.
