PRATT, Kan. (AP) _ Becki Ronen, a Kansas State University student competing as Miss Flint Hills, was named Miss Kansas 2009.
Ronen, of Buhler, was crowned Saturday night at the conclusion of the pageant in Pratt. She will represent the state in the Miss America contest.
A senior at Kansas State, Ronen is a trumpet performance major whose platform is promoting the arts in school. She plans a career as a traveling soloist.
The first runner-up was Miss Meadowlark Alexandra Miller, a graduate of Derby High School who is currently attending Wichita State University.
