TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The $100 million wrongful death lawsuit regarding a man who died after being tasered by Shawnee County Sheriff's deputies took another step forward as both sides released their witness lists.

Walter J. Haake's family is suing Shawnee County, its Sheriff's Department, Deputies Jason Mills and Shayna Johnson, and Taser International after he died during a confrontation with officers in the parking lot of Goodyear Tire and Rubber in April 2008.

Both sides also submitted the names of two individuals, Jerry Palmer and Larry McLain, who could serve as potential mediators in the case.

The incident occurred after Haake's co-workers claimed he was acting disoriented and called police to prevent him from driving. Sheriff's deputies had already taken his keys and were try to force him from his truck when he was shocked by the taser three times and wrestled him to the ground.

The Shawnee Co. Coroner, Eric Mitchell ruled Haake's death was caused by the compression placed on his chest while he was being held down combined with a cardiac disease.

A trial date of August 2, 2010 has been set.
