Topeka - Kansas Attorney General Stephen Six made a special appearance at the new Batterer Intervention Advisory Board meeting.

The group met Friday.

Six took the opportunity to recognize the co-chairs for the board, Curt and Christie Brungardt. The Brungardts are the parents of Jana Mackey, a 25-year old law student at KU and advocate for women's rights. She was murdered by her ex-boyfriend last July.

The Attorney General also acknowledged the work of the Shawnee County Coordinated Community Response Team to develop a coordinated community response to domestic violence.

I can't tell you how much and how hard it was to find an outlet for my opinion of the Topeka (preg)judicial system. my daughter supported her boyfriend and her two children in his mothers house for oveer two years. when they kicked her out of their house in the middle of the night with her autistic son... after they got $600 dollars in rent for eight months after she left they refused to allow her to have her daughter without the father chaperoning the child, this pillar of the community who refused to work and take care of their family would come overe in the morning or whenever they could get going he not only sat in my daughters apt. but went through her personal papers, her cell phone recors , and questioned her as to who she went out with. she finally got a lawyer, after this animal and his mother threatened her life, and the judge appointed a medeator and an attorney to protect the child. without knowing the child or spending any time with her they made life changing decisions.
