With winter fast approaching flu season is getting under way and it is time again flu shots.

Licensed nurses with Clinical Mobility will be on hand at West Ridge Mall on Fridays and Saturdays starting today and lasting until November 4th. For flu shots, there will be a $30 charge and $40 for pneumonia shots.

Prescriptions are not necessary and Medicare recipients who are not members of a Medicare HMO can receive either or both shots for free with a valid Medicare card.

A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 18 in order to sign a consent form. Shots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

According to Clinical Mobility, the Center for Disease Control reccomends flushots for people who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities, children from 6 months to 5 years old, health care workers, and anyone else wanting to protect themselves from the flu.
