Instead of sticking to just what's in the textbooks Ogden schoolteachers are putting a little bounce into the way their classes operate and it's having a big impact.
In the halls of Ogden Elementary the motto hangs over a doorway saying, it’s a place “where all can learn." And it seems the motto is holding true. Ogden Elementary School is one of 16 schools that will receive $10,00 Oct. 6th. Ogden won one of 16 academic achievement awards sponsored by Intel and Scholastic.
Every year the School of Distinction Program honors schools for implementing new ideas that can be used in other classrooms nationwide. In the initial selection process Ogden was singled out for having outstanding mathematic achievements, specifically with teaching strategies and hands-on learning methods.
Ogden will be competing with those 15 other schools, for another $15,000 in the best of the best awards.
