An alleged sex offender mistakenly released from jail is back in custody. Twenty-three-year-old Jerimiah Nave was released at one Thursday and was back in custody about 6 hours later. He's charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Authorities asked people to be on the lookout for Nave who was released from the jail accidently. A joint task force of Topeka police officers and Shawnee County sheriff deputies received tips Nave was in the area near 53rd and Shaffer. He was found hiding in a barn... and was arrested just before seven this evening. Nave's preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday.
