It was an explosive day over the Kansas River, as another section of the Topeka Boulevard Bridge came tumbling down.
Although it wasn't the initial blast of the Topeka Boulevard Bridge, dozens of spectators still made their way to the riverbanks.
This explosion blew up two bridge beams, in unison, leaving two, standing side by side. Armed with camera's and giant lenses, bridge blast viewers watched on as the smoke and dust spread over the Kansas River.
This was the first time to see one of the bridge's explosions for Kkathryn Marney.
Marney says it’s wasn’t as big as she expected, but it was still an interesting sight, “it was loud and delayed, I wasn't expecting that big of a boom.”
But for Don Thun, who hasn't missed a blast yet, it was all about getting that perfect picture of the bridge coming down, “it's hard to get, but I keep trying." Workers will blow up the second part of the most northern south section of the bridge next week.
